friends

I have been thinking about what our churches should look like. One thing that I have been seeing is the same people. Are we bringing the lost to our churches? I don't remember the last time I invited a lost friend at work or school to church. If we are doing our part to seek and save the lost shouldn't we see folks we do not know on Sunday morning? I saw a sign at a local church that said "A Church should be a hospital for sinners not a museum for saints." Every time I start to think I am good I get reminded the only difference between the world and me is I know Jesus. He save me on the cross all I had to do was believe and have faith. My works did not save me but, my work better show I am saved.

A church I used to go to had a sign above the door that read "You are now entering the mission field". You saw the sign every time you left the church. It was a bit cheesy, but it was a reminder that we are all expected to fulfill the Great Commission. I think we often lose track of fact that we are supposed to be more interested in others than we are with ourselves.
